Wavestore, the British developer of innovative open-platform and highly secure Linux-based video management software (VMS), has launched v6.8 of its VMS to deliver performance and functionality improvements to systems integrators and end-users alike.
Among many enhancements and additional features, v6.8 includes support for VMWare ESXi - introducing virtualisation to the Wavestore VMS platform. End-users that use Virtual Machines (VMs) as part of their IT infrastructure are now able to take full advantage of the technology which can help reduce energy, software, and IT administration costs.
Wavestore’s VMS can be licensed in two ways when in a VM environment; either via the internet or, for sites that do not have constant internet access, via Wavestore’s VM dongle.
Operator enhancements
Version 6.8 also adds convenient operator enhancements to Wavestore’s WaveView client software, such as the ability to dynamically search, and instantly display, ad-hoc groups of devices. For example, typing in “door” will display any device that has “door” in its name, allowing the user to easily find specific clusters of cameras and/or devices.
“Our ‘one screen, total control’ philosophy drives us to ensure that our partners can seamlessly bring a wide range of technologies together so that operators can easy work day-to-day with Wavestore’s VMS”, says Julian Inman, Head of Product Management. “Wavestore’s VMS running in a virtualised environment can even be used in conjunction with traditional Wavestore NVRs/HVRs and the operator can simply see and control the entire mixed group from a single screen if they wish. We bring together multiple devices, such as cameras, access control, intruder detection and advanced analytics; and now multiple server technologies all with the same easy to use front end to deliver a fully scalable and future-proof solution”.
Wavestore v6.8 is now shipping with all new orders and is available as an upgrade for existing users who have active Upgrade Bundles |
Integrated analytics package
Wavestore has also introduced a host of new integrations to it’s VMS. These include the latest Smart IP camera feature sets from Hikvision and Uniview, bringing functionality like face detection, line crossing, advanced motion detection, scene change notifications and more, which can be set to trigger specific actions on event. The full video analytics suite from AllGoVision is now fully integrated to deliver a cost-effective all-in-one analytics package for a wide range of applications and individual detection zones from Optex Redscan detectors can now be associated with specific actions.
Wavestore v6.8 is now shipping with all new orders and is available as an upgrade for existing users who have active Upgrade Bundles. Upgrade Bundles do not tie partners into expensive recurring annual contracts and can be purchased at any time without the need to back-fill any previously missed version upgrades. The package comes in a block of six successive in-version upgrades without any time limit imposed. This gives Wavestore Partners the opportunity to keep their systems up to date with the latest features, integrations and performance enhancements as they are introduced, without breaking the bank.
In addition, integration modules are available to bolt onto existing solutions or can be ordered at time of purchase with new solutions
