The Vi00021U upgrades the previous Vi0021 by adding the additional ability to monitor PoE levels up to 60W for both UPoE and 802.3bt PoE types. It maintains real-time monitoring of both voltage and wattage which are equally important in determining if the amount of source PoE is available to power the connected device.
The Vi00021U is in line powered from a PoE with the advantages of not depending on external batteries and providing actual real-time voltage and wattage readers. A monitor port can be used to connect a laptop for direct video viewing.
802.3bt standards
“Our industry is rapidly adapting 802.3bt standards,” stated Neil Heller, Vigitron’s Vice President of Business Development.
“802.3bt standards are active for any PoE source greater than 30W. Its signature is not compatible with previous high PoE sources such as UPoE. This leads to confusion when customers provide a source equal to the connected devices.”
Cost-effective
“The Vi00021U will help clear up his confusion by determining the type of power required. Just as important the Vi00021U is cost-effective and can easily be carried by installation and servicing personnel.”
The Vi00021U joins Vigitron’s extensive product line of test equipment providing the ability to pre-determine existing network bandwidth and PoE capacity, verify installations, and troubleshoot.
