Foremost security solutions developer, designer, and provider, Videcon, have unveiled their latest Concept Pro camera – the X.

A revolutionary piece of software, it allows camera operators to virtually remove someone’s clothing in order to identify if they are carrying weapons or have distinguishing marks/tattoos that will help identify perpetrators of crimes.

Each camera operates as a standard CCTV camera but once a person of interest is identified, the software has added functionality that allows the operator to isolate an individual and hit ‘clothing removal’. The clothing of that individual is removed to show what cannot be seen underneath by the naked eye.

Authority comments

Videcon Managing Director, Matt Rushall said: “We’re delighted to be able to bring this product to market. Used responsibly it will allow camera operators to strip an individual down to their underwear without even having to stop them to do so.

The individual will not know and is able to get on with their day in peace. Provided that they are wearing cotton-based underwear, their modesty will remain intact.

This was an April fool’s joke led by Videcon. Whilst they have no plans to launch a CCTV camera that removes a person's clothing, they do have an exciting product announcement on the way!
