Salient Systems, a pioneer in open architecture video management systems, has announced that Granite School District, one of the largest school districts in the United States, has selected the CompleteView Video Management Platform to deploy in more than 130 schools, administrative offices and other facilities.
The open video data platform will help the Salt Lake City area school district manage its security and surveillance operations.
Cameras integration with CompleteView
Over the next several months, Granite School District will connect more than 5,000 cameras to CompleteView to provide a district-wide picture of security operations, with the help of its systems integrator partner, Utah Yamas Controls, based in Draper, Utah. The system will help protect 60,000 students and 7,500 staff members.
Utah Yamas recommended CompleteView to meet the district’s need for a robust platform
With deep experience and expertise with Salient and its offerings, Utah Yamas recommended CompleteView to meet the district’s need for a robust platform that was intuitive to use, easy to deploy and could scale to meet Granite School’s current and future camera requirements.
Accommodating new innovations
“School districts such as Granite not only require a robust platform for surveillance, but one that can also accommodate new innovations in school security and operational efficiency technology,” said James Stephens, Western Regional Sales Manager, Salient Systems.
He adds, “By leveraging CompleteView’s open platform approach, the district will not be limited to specific camera vendors, analytics providers or other third-party integrations they might like to implement.”
CompleteView VMS
CompleteView VMS open architecture platform offers dynamic market capabilities by reducing bandwidth consumption and enabling more users to access more cameras from any client, including web browsers and mobile devices.
The platform’s bandwidth management features, such as Multi-Streaming, leverage a camera's built-in capabilities and intelligently switches between low and high bitrate streams on up to three streams per device. Dynamic Resolution Scaling intuitively scales a video's image and only sends useful pixels of data to the server, reducing strain without sacrificing quality.
