Elatec, the Puchheim-based manufacturer of multi-technology RFID readers for authentication solutions, has used its international trade contacts to procure a large quantity of protective face masks. In addition to enabling Elatec to provide supplies for its employees and their families, this has now made two donations possible.
CEO Stefan Haertel handed over surgical masks and FFP2 masks for the Fürstenfeldbruck Disaster Control Department to District Administrator Thomas Karmasin. Elatec also supported the residents and employees of the Augustinum retirement home in Munich-Neufriedenheim. Dr. Johannes Rückert, Managing Director of the Augustinum, accepted the masks with thanks.
COVID-19 crisis
Face masks are important in the COVID-19 crisis and remain in short supply"
"Face masks are important in the COVID-19 crisis and remain in short supply. That is why we have used our international trade contacts to obtain a larger supply of protective masks. In this way, we want to support regional institutions and also protect our employees and their families," explained Stefan Haertel, CEO of Elatec GmbH.
"Our customers all belong to corona risk groups because of their age, disability or state of health, and we currently require a large number of masks for their protection. We are therefore very pleased about this donation. It is simply a great gesture in these turbulent times," says Dr. Johannes Rückert, Managing Director of the Augustinum senior citizens' residences.
Extremely generous donation
District Administrator Thomas Karmasin thanked the Elatec team: "Operating masks and especially the expensive FFP2 masks are urgently needed, but are difficult to obtain in large quantities. We are therefore more than grateful for this extremely generous donation."
