Secure Mobility are able to offer employers in New Zealand a powerful and accurate tool for monitoring employee safety |
Secure Mobility, who provide a range of products to ensure the security of mobile assets and users, are delighted to announce their partnership with award winning lone worker safety app StaySafe.
The partnership comes ahead of new health and safety legislation which will come into force across New Zealand on the 4th April 2016. The new Health and Safety at Work Act will hold businesses legally accountable for reducing workplace risk and fulfilling their duty of care to employees.
Powerful and accurate tool for monitoring employee safety
In partnering with StaySafe, Secure Mobility are able to offer employers in New Zealand a powerful and accurate tool for monitoring employee safety at all times, using just their smartphone or tablet.
StaySafe, which was originally developed in the UK but now retails via partners across the globe, is an app and surrounding cloud-based monitoring service which tracks a lone worker’s location via GPS and alerts their manager if they do not check-in within a specified time. The app works on iPhone, Android and BlackBerry devices, and offers a wide range of functions including a panic button, working session expiry and regular check-in, GPS and satellite tracking, inactivity and duress alerts.
If an employee activates the app’s panic button or fails to check in, alerts are automatically triggered on screen and via text and email, allowing an employer to take immediate action. Employers can choose to undertake the monitoring of their employees in-house via an online hub or outsource to an external 24/7 monitoring and response partners. A fully integrated solution, including bundled hosting is also available to New Zealand customers.
Health and Safety reform
The new Health and Safety reform bill aims to reduce New Zealand’s workplace injury and death toll 25% by 2020. Businesses will be required to act in reducing workplace harm by focusing on managing risk and encouraging worker engagement and participation. As the StaySafe App requires little training and is easy to use, it can be easily integrated into an existing business culture before the changes come into force.
“Ensuring employee safety and wellbeing is high on the agenda for many organisations in New Zealand ahead of the legislation changes in April” explains Stephen Robb, Director at Secure Mobility. “The StaySafe app provides employers with an easy to use and cost effective solution to better meet their duty of care to employees, and is a great addition to our portfolio of leading security solutions. StaySafe provides a flexible solution that is easy for users to understand and operate, whilst providing the enterprise tools needed to manage, monitor and audit incidents across organisations of all sizes.”
Don Cameron, CEO, StaySafe adds; “StaySafe turns any smart device into a safety tool and can be up and running within 24 hours, making it an attractive and scalable solution for any business. The option to track employees via satellite means that you can monitor employee safety even in mobile blackspots – perfect for the environmental landscape in New Zealand”.
