STANLEY Product and Technology, a division in Stanley Black & Decker and global provider of security and access control solutions, will be exhibiting at Skydd & Säkerhet, which takes place between the 24th-25th January at the MalmöMässan trade fair and convention centre in Malmö, Sweden.
The last 12 months has been a period of considerable activity for STANLEY and Skydd & Säkerhet provides the perfect opportunity to meet directly with integration partners and end users, and highlight how the company plans to build on its success. On Stand E26, the company will exhibit a range of its innovative solutions wit next generation PACOM 8707 display card reader and the PAC8 access control system.
PACOM 8707 card management and authentication
Developed around the company’s highly successful PACOM Unison platform, PACOM 8707 incorporates state-of-the-art card management and authentication and supports all generations of the MIFARE protocol, as well as radio frequency identification (RFID) based cards and the Wiegand over the air protocol. By complying with the Security Industry Association’s (SIA) Open Supervised Device Protocol (OSDP) PACOM 8707 ensures that sniffing devices can’t be installed behind the reader or along the communications path.
When used in modern commercial buildings, display card readers not only have to offer a high level of security and performance – they have to look good and be user friendly too. Those attending Skydd & Säkerhet will be able to see firsthand how these elements have been designed into PACOM 8707, with a user-friendly design that is based around a cutting edge organic lighting emitting diode (OLED) display, which ensures information is readable in almost any environmental condition. The screen itself can be used to display both text and graphics, facilitating customisation and the opportunity to, for example, incorporate corporate logos or provide basic instructions. When used in modern commercial buildings, display card readers not only have to offer a high level of security and performance – they have to look good and be user friendly too
PAC 8 app
It is completely revolutionising the built environment and a growing number of building services are exploiting the benefits offered by the cloud, wireless technology, smart devices and remote system configuration via the internet. These features form the basis of the PAC8 door controller, which provides a modern way of carrying out system installation and management via the dedicated PAC8 app. As the name suggests PAC8 can protect up to eight doors, operates with up to 250 keyholders, allows access permissions to be tailored to match specific roles, and features four time profiles so that keyholders can be uniquely managed.
This smart, compact controller takes full advantage of the latest in Bluetooth technology, so there’s no need to install communications cabling, and it boasts 90 per cent of the features normally only associated with PC-based systems. It can be remotely configured on any mobile device via the app and, just as importantly, system configuration is backed up in a secure cloud environment, including settings, keyholder information and events.
Ahead of the event, James Ford, Director for Global Marketing at STANLEY Product & Technology, commented, “At this year’s Skydd & Säkerhet, we are looking forward to demonstrating why STANLEY’s security brands - PACOM and PAC - continue to lead the way in the design and manufacture of cutting edge security and access control solutions. By visiting Stand E26 and talking to our experts, visitors have a fantastic opportunity to find out how our technology can transform a diverse range of built environments and the many advantages of working with us.”
