Taipei will become the focus of the international security industry again as the 19th edition of Secutech is set to commence next week at the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center in Taiwan. The show is renowned as one of the most influential international exhibitions and conferences for electronic security, home security, info security and fire & safety. Running from 19 – 21 April 2016, the show houses around 410 exhibitors and anticipates the attendance of 26,000 industry professionals from all around the world.
Diversified collection of product showcases
At the fair’s upcoming edition, participants can expect a more diversified collection of product showcases since the show has gathered not only leading manufacturers of traditional safety devices, components and parts, but also a large group of suppliers of total security solutions, next-generation technologies and digital platform designs.
Ms Regina Tsai, Deputy General Manager of Messe Frankfurt New Era Media Business Ltd explained: “Amidst the vigorous price competition in the Asian market, we have noticed shifting demands from single gadgets to smarter products and solution-oriented items, which offer high cost effectiveness, over the last year. We foresee that the soaring needs will unfold a wealth of business opportunities for OEMs, ODMs, systems integrators and distributors along the supply chain. Therefore, as the show’s organiser, we take one more step to accommodate the emerging market needs and enhance Secutech with increased strength in the total solutions for smart home, energy management, info security and fire & safety sectors.”

Five specialised pavilions envision future businesses
Occupying 35,873 sqm of exhibition space, Secutech 2016 establishes five dedicated pavilions highlighting the key technologies and future applications in a range of business fields. They include Intelligent Industrial/Factory, Intelligent Retail, Transportation, Building and Healthcare.
Amongst them the spotlight falls on the Intelligent Industrial/Factory Pavilion and Intelligent Retail Pavilion, which are newly designed for buyers and system integrators to explore the possibility of the total security and management solutions in the future.
Intelligent industrial/factory pavilion
The pavilion covers the applications of IoT, cloud services, robotics and more newbies which bring intelligence into factories to realise “Industry 4.0”. A Smart Factory Demo is set up to showcase solutions in safety management, energy management, factory automation and machine visions.
Intelligent retail pavilion
In addition to traditional theft prevention measures, retailers are now looking into intelligent systems and solutions that enable easier stock management and analysis of consumer behaviour to maximise the best return on invest. An onsite demo store will be erected to showcase the intelligent video analysis, RFID applications, EAS system, POS system and multi-media touch panel. Attendees will be able to have a closer look on how IoT technologies are adopted into the retail sector.
