RiverSafe, a cybersecurity professional services provider, has partnered with the Victor Moore Foundation (VMF), a Nigerian-based, education-focused charity that supports young people to access education and opportunities.

VMF is a non-profit organisation that works with children and young people from low-income homes and marginalised communities, providing them with scholarships and equipment needed for them to gain a decent education.

Learning centre

RiverSafe is sponsoring 21 children, almost a third of the young people in the programme, which will cover school fees, school uniforms, and resources such as books and stationery, helping to improve their learning experience.

The partnership aims to support VMF’s plans to almost double the number of children on the programme next year, from 65 sponsored young people to 118, while supporting the goal of developing a learning centre with technology access with the hope of using consultants from RiverSafe to provide basic IT and cyber awareness lessons.

Providing basic education

This of course continues the cycle of deprivation that these children are born into"

Suid Adeyanju, CEO of RiverSafe commented, “Nigeria has one of the highest rates in the world of children not in school and this of course continues the cycle of deprivation that these children are born into."

"Education is the best way we can help these marginalised communities and so the work the Victor Moore Foundation does is incredibly important."

Resources and skills

We live in a time where businesses are lacking skill and expertise, especially in the technology sector, meaning initiatives like these not only provide families with the support they deserve but also open up opportunities for the next generation to fill much-needed vacancies."

"We are excited to start this partnership and champion the young people who need it the most, providing them with resources, skills, and confidence to take with them throughout education and into their careers.

Access to quality education

It is widely known that any society that wants to progress must place value on education"

Besidonne Moore, Founder and Executive Director of the Victor Moore Foundation commented, “It is widely known that any society that wants to progress must place value on education."

"We must ensure that children have access to quality education irrespective of who they are, where they are from, or their socio-economic backgrounds. Unfortunately, Nigeria is reputed to have one of the highest numbers of out-of-school children in the world, and it is in response to this that VMF exists.

Reaching more children

We are delighted to partner with RiverSafe, an organisation that supports our mission of providing good quality education to all."

"The partnership will support our plans to grow, reaching more children that need our help and we are looking forward to seeing how this relationship can benefit young people in accessing the skills and resources they need for their futures.
