Oncam has been recognised along with partner Video Analysis Solutions |
Oncam, the security division of Oncam Technologies and leading provider of 360-degree camera technology, announced recently it has been recognised as the Most Innovative In-Store Surveillance solution at the 2015 Retail Fraud Awards alongside partners Video Analysis Solutions (VAS). Each year, the Retail Fraud Awards showcase and celebrate the best in retail fraud and loss prevention, people, processes, strategy and technology.
Single-box solution
The 2015 Retail Fraud Awards acknowledge the best individual and team performances, innovative new products and creative loss prevention strategies. Oncam and VAS were awarded for the collaborative effort to provide cross-functional solutions using Oncam’s award-winning, 360-degree surveillance solutions combined with VAS analytics software. The result is a single-box solution that utilises cutting-edge IP surveillance, along with key business intelligence capabilities that many retailers demand.
"As somebody who has leveraged the technology in our stores, it was great to see Oncam/VAS gain recognition for their partnership at this years retail fraud awards," said Colin Culleton, Group Loss Prevention Manager at Next Group PLC, and also winner of this year’s 2015 Retail Fraud Awards Loss Prevention Director of the Year.
Powerful partnership
“The Oncam/VAS solution works on two levels – technical and human,” said Scott Brothers, Regional Account Director, Europe, Oncam. “Oncam 360-degree cameras provide invaluable data, which VAS interpret and then produce simple, actionable business intelligence dashboards from, making this a deep technical integration. There is a go-to-market synergy between the two teams collaborating on a project-by-project basis to ensure we have the customer needs at the front of mind. This strategy makes this a powerful partnership.”
The solution delivers high-accuracy people counting, queue management, heat mapping of in-store traffic, dwell information per fixture or marketing display and customer demographics reporting. In practice, several major retailers are utilising the customer occupancy feature, which allows the camera to monitor the number of customers in real-time, pushing that information to the VAS app that store management can access via smartphone or tablet.
“Retailers can leverage this workforce management tool in store to increase timely engagement with customers and dynamically improve customer service,” said Nigel Ashman, Owner, VAS. “We knew what we were developing had to be cross-functional across departments if retailers would be able to truly leverage the benefits and gain an ROI from our solution. We are proud to be a part of this collaboration and to be recognised in such a prestigious arena.”
