The virtual Security Operations Center (vSOC) on iOS significantly minimises training time and hardware costs

AlliedBarton Security Services, the industry's premier provider of highly trained security personnel, introduces the new AlliedBarton Security Operations platform on iOS powered by D3 Security. This truly mobile tour and incident management system extends the mobilisation of security officers and empowers them to easily capture security data. The virtual Security Operations Center (vSOC) on iOS, which significantly minimises training time, reduces hardware costs and creates actionable intelligence that supports security strategy, is announced in conjunction with the 59th Annual ASIS International Seminar and Exhibits conference in Chicago's McCormick Place, September 24-27, 2013.

"We are working in partnership with D3 Security Management Systems Inc. to ensure that our security officers can utilise a device they are already familiar with to collect information and effectively implement configurable modules for managing incidents, guard tours, dispatching, procedures and tasks," said David Feeney, IT Director, Integrated Solutions, AlliedBarton. "D3 was an original innovator in the incident management market and the adoption of PDAs for integrated tour management. We are excited to lead the market with them in adopting ubiquitous platforms such as iOS and Android."

Through their partnership, AlliedBarton and D3 have extended the availability of vSOC beyond Windows mobile devices, to all iOS devices including the iPhone, iPad and iPad Mini, and soon Android devices as well. This has created the ability to leverage the more advanced and interoperable functions of the iOS platform, and expands the functionality of D3's software.

"Managers are empowered with vSOC to track tour completion and route security officers to ensure maximum visibility and coverage, and collect information about guard tour checkpoints for reporting and trending," said Doug Fogwell, Senior Vice President, Marketing & Sales Services, AlliedBarton. "This structured, accessible data offers our clients and account teams the ability to mine significant data to ensure our security programs are operating at top efficiency."

"vSOC also enables incident data analysis to identify high volume times, days, shifts and locations and deploy appropriate resources according to those metrics," explained Feeney. "The system also facilitates the identification of common incident types and the assignment of mitigation strategies and countermeasures."
