AdvanIDe, the leading independent provider of semiconductors for the smart card and RFID industry, recently announced that Erik Steger has joined the company as sales director for Europe and South Africa.  He reports to Holger Roessner, managing director for AdvanIDe.

“We are excited to have someone with Erik’s talents and experience joining the AdvanIDe team and directing our sales efforts in Europe,” Roessner said.  “Erik has worked for a number of leading companies focused on ID solutions, cards and payment, and has particularly deep experience in credential production and personalisation, as well as the entire identity cycle including enrolment, biometrics and databases. He will provide our current and prospective customers with valuable account leadership and support.”

Steger will be primarily responsible for all of AdvanIDe sales activities in Europe and South Africa and will also oversee local procurement and customer service at the company’s offices in Walluf, Germany.  Before joining AdvanIDe, Steger was group sales director at authentication leader Optaglio, where he advanced through project and account management to head business development for the banking and financial sector.  Prior to Optaglio, Steger served as director of EMEA sales for L1 Identity Solutions and, before that, sales director for Bundesdruckerei, the German Federal State Printing House, where he was responsible for business development in the Middle East and Asia.  He started his career as an account manager and, later, business development manager with Oberthur Card Systems

Steger earned his bachelor’s degree in business communication from Radboud Universiteit Nijmegen in Nijmegen, the Netherlands.
