Workshop is scheduled on Wednesday, April 6, in room 505 of the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Las Vegas

The Department of Defense force protection community continues to rely heavily on using commercial, off-the-shelf products alongside their own in-house products and specifications. To promote synergy between the physical security industry and one of its largest end-user bases, the Security Industry Association (SIA) will host a Security Equipment Integration Working Group (SEIWG) workshop at ISC West that will focus on the products and standards developed and under development within the group.

The workshop is scheduled for 1-3 p.m. on Wednesday, April 6, in room 505 of the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Las Vegas. Manufacturers are encouraged to attend the workshop to learn how their products can become SEIWG-compliant and how they can best market their products to the growing number of SEIWG-compliant DoD programmes. SEIWG members, meanwhile, will benefit from learning about the wide range of commercially available products that provide the underpinnings of many DoD projects.

As a standing subcommittee of the DoD's Physical Security Equipment Action Group, the SEIWG's mission is to coordinate and influence the system architecture, technical design and systems integration of all physical security equipment to be used within the DoD.

The SEIWG has a multi-service membership that includes the U.S. Air Force, Navy, Army and Marine Corps. It accomplishes its mission through the generation of architecture products, interface control documents, specifications and general information sharing.
