The partnership between ASSA ABLOY and Verisure is one of the most successful M2M partnerships in Europe

ASSA ABLOY, the largest global supplier of intelligent lock and security solutions, responsible for one in every 10 lock and security installations worldwide, focused on innovation on Stand D1700 in Hall S17 at IFSEC 2014 (Excel, London, UK from 17-19 June, 2014.)

Recently named by Forbes as one of the world’s 100 most innovative companies, ASSA ABLOY showcased new products and solutions for a wide range of end user markets, bringing competitive advantage to OEM and system integrator partners, and improving customers' lives through greater security, safety and convenience.

The first connected digital door lock targeting the mass market was presented at the IFSEC International Exhibition in London 17th – 19th June 2014, by global leader of door opening solutions ASSA ABLOY and Europe’s largest alarm company Verisure.

The new connected door lock makes it possible to lock and unlock from anywhere in the world by the use of a smartphone. The partnership between the two companies is already one of the most successful M2M partnerships in Europe and soon the UK market will benefit from this.

The integration of the connected door lock with the alarm system and other functions in the home sets a new standard for door locks and Smart Home functionalities. The concept holds features such as remotely lock-unlock, temporary entry codes when needed and push notifications that, for example, inform parents that their kids have come home from school. All actions and adjustments are displayed in the app and recorded in the event log.

Now the smartphone is the new door key

It is the first time in the UK a digital door lock is made smart and connected to an eco-system where it talks and works with other functions in the home - and where it is made available and priced for the larger market.

“We are really looking forward to present the Yale Doorman digital door lock at IFSEC together with Verisure and their system for the connected smart home. Since launch in the Nordic countries in late 2013 our partnership has been a success in terms of sales but also in terms of feedback and positive test-results, and now we can present this to the UK market,”says Tabitha Morton, Commercial Director ASSA ABLOY UK.

One app to rule it all

Verisure, with more than 1.6 million customers in 11 European countries, will be present in the ASSA ABLOY stand at IFSEC to present a range of connected smart home features possible to access in the Verisure App – an app that is the most popular connected smart home app in Europe with more 700,000 users and growing with more than 30,000 new users every month.

”At IFSEC we will present our smart home concept including the app in which the customer can monitor and control products and services such as door locks, alarms, heat pumps, different electric devices, moisture levels and a lot more. All functionality “talk and work” with each other and truly make the home smart and connected” says Rasmus Pedersen, UK Manager at Verisure.
