AES Corporation, the leading manufacturer of private wireless communications equipment, recently announced two tools that boost user efficiencies and reduce installation time associated with deploying and supporting AES-IntelliNet fire and burglary alarm communications solutions. The new Network Connectivity Tool (NCT) and Configuration and Diagnostic Tool (CDT) provide a fast, easy way for dealers and installers to test locations for network connectivity and configure and diagnose AES-IntelliNet units.
“Our customers enjoy a great competitive advantage thanks to the superior reliability and RMR enabled by our private wireless mesh networks. We developed the NCT and CDT in response to customer requests to speed the installation and servicing of our solution. The new tools deliver significant productivity enhancements and make it even easier for operators to grow highly profitable AES-based businesses,” said Michael Bugda, Director of Product Management, AES.
“AES is the only vendor that provides us with our own mesh network, so we can consistently deliver reliable, world-class alarm services while maintaining full control over operations and costs. The more we can expand our AES footprint, the better it is for our business,” said Jeff Kahn, General Manager, Wayne Alarm Systems. “Now with the NCT, we can quickly map suitable locations for AES-IntelliNet units. Not only is NCT extremely easy for sales staff and technicians to use, it cuts the time required to evaluate each subscriber unit location by at least 30 minutes. That’s a valuable savings.”
AES Network Connectivity Tool: Quickly validate installation locations
The NCT helps companies sell and install AES-IntelliNet subscriber units into new or existing AES-based networks. Instead of having to pull actual subscriber units from stock to test field locations, customers can evaluate viability in less than 30 seconds using the simple, one-button-operation tool.
“We’re very excited about using the NCT to drive business forward. By giving us an instantaneous read on signal strength, it enables us to cut hours off our validation process every day and frees us to focus on selling more alarm services,” said Scott Haynes, President, Seacoast Security.
The low-weight (2.6 lbs) NCT fits in the palm of the hand and can typically run for days without recharging the battery, making it convenient for sales and installer personnel to carry just about anywhere. Its bright NetCon number display and path count indicator LEDs ensure users can read results under any conditions.
AES Configuration and Diagnostic Tool: Streamline pre-configuration setups and diagnostic checks
High-volume alarm dealers and distributors can use the CDT to accelerate field and in-house pre-configuration setups for AES-IntelliNet subscriber units. Technicians can quickly update and modify operational parameters. By enabling IntelliNet units to be configured three to five times faster than previously, the CDT saves tremendous time for customers who work with hundreds of units on a given day.
The CDT extends AES handheld programmer functionality with integrated diagnostics for subscriber health and operational parameters. Designed for convenience and ease of use, the CDT weighs less than one pound and automatically uploads selected parameters to subscriber units with the click of a button.
