StaySafe tracks a lone worker’s location and alerts their manager if they do not check-in within a specified time

Following an independent audit by the National Security Inspectorate, Lone worker safety solution StaySafe Business has been awarded NSI Guarding Silver status for the provision of lone worker device services in accordance with British Standard BS8484. BS8484 defines stringent guidelines regarding lone worker devices and is only awarded to solutions that are deemed to be fully compliant with current safety legislation and practices.

StaySafe’s cloud-based monitoring service

StaySafe Business is an app and surrounding cloud-based monitoring service which tracks a lone worker’s location via GPS and alerts their manager if they do not check-in within a specified time. The app works on iPhone, Android and BlackBerry and offers a wide range of functions including a panic button, working session expiry and low battery warnings, GPS tracking, inactivity and duress alerts. If an employee activates the app’s panic button or fails to check in, alerts are automatically triggered on screen and via text and email, allowing an employer to take immediate action. Monitoring can be done in-house via an online Hub or outsourced to StaySafe’s monitoring and response partners who offer 24/7 service across the UK.

Services robustly audited

Richard Jenkins, NSI Chief Executive praised StaySafe’s accreditation; “We are delighted that StaySafe has achieved NSI Guarding Silver approval for the provision of lone worker device services. Organisations working in the security sector aspire to obtain NSI approval and StaySafe’s clients and their employees can be reassured that the service StaySafe provides has been robustly audited against the relevant industry standards. I congratulate StaySafe and wish them every success for the future.”

Don Cameron, CEO StaySafe added; “achieving BS8484 status means we join the handful of lone worker safety devices available that meet the stringent industry standards of approval. This is a hugely important development for us as a business as we are now independently recognised as having a solution of the highest quality, which is fully compliant.”
