CMP worked with HID to bring together the market leaders in a variety of sectors to demonstrate the latest technology working seamlessly with Smartcards and RFID. Fastlane turnstiles from Integrated Design were the entrance control solution of choice.
Billed as ‘a day in the life of a card' the stand functioned as a demonstration pavilion for real-life current and future smart card applications from access control, time & attendance to cashless vending. Visitors took part of a truly interactive tour experiencing and learning about the latest solutions from leading companies such as Nexus, iTRAK, Privaris and ITS all working with iClass 13.56 mhz contactless smartcards from HID.
To get into the demonstration area visitors had to navigate through the Fastlane Glassgates guarding the entrance (and exit). The HID readers were custom mounting directly into the frosted reader window, giving a very clear indication to users where to present their card.
Once the card had been presented (and approved) the bi-directional swinging glass barriers opened in a friendly ‘door-like' motion allowing visitors to enter the inner workings of the stand. The IR detection beams present in the Glassgate for tailgate detection, coupled with the glass barrier helped control only authorised visitors onto the stand, (making sure everyone in the demonstration area had a card to activate the exhibits.)
"This was a great opportunity to work together with HID and show visitors the benefits of the fast throughput of the Fastlane Glassgate, and demonstrate just how easily the Fastlane range can integrate with the latest access control on the market," said Michael Bystram, Sales & Marketing Director, IDL.
