The solar-powered First Responder unit is ideal for areas with inadequate access to power and cabling |
FutureSentry, a developer of automated detection solutions designed to enhance security, has entered into a strategic agreement with Sun Surveillance, a South Carolina-based wireless security technology provider that enables the company to bring to market a solar-powered FutureSentry First Responder unit that is ideal for areas with limited access to power or cabling. The partnership extends both companies' ability to build upon their relationship and technology development as market needs evolve.
"FutureSentry develops a truly unique product that is very compatible with our solar solutions," said Chris Phillips, President, Sun Surveillance. "By leveraging the FutureSentry team's technical expertise with our experience in wireless solar solutions, we can further optimise growth opportunities and expand our footprint into strategically important markets, such as government, transportation and critical infrastructure."
Sun Surveillance offers a complete line of solar surveillance systems to meet any customer application. Because of the wide range of possible security applications, Sun Surveillance also designs custom wireless solar powered camera systems. Its partnership with FutureSentry includes the development of a customised solar unit to power the First Responder solution in remote areas. The solar panels enable a cost-effective deployment as there is no need to trench and pull video cable and power, saving substantially on both installation cost and time.
The FutureSentry First Responder is an automated detection solution that mimics the actions of a security guard to prevent crime before loss or damage occurs. The groundbreaking device leverages built-in motion detection to automatically identify potentially dangerous targets within 1,000 feet, and track objects to deter further criminal behaviour. Once it detects motion in a user-defined area, the system illuminates activity with a high-intensity LED light and continues to track movement until it is no longer detected.
"We are pleased to partner with Sun Surveillance as their solar technology enables us to deliver a total solution that addresses security needs while reducing installation costs," said Rolland Trayte, President and COO, FutureSentry. "Sun Surveillance's green technologies are on the cutting edge of innovation and will help us bring the FutureSentry First Responder to a new group of customers."
