Sony will unveil its range of SD and HD technology for video software vendors at Intersec Dubai 2010

Sony will reinforce its commitment to HD at INTERSEC Dubai 2010. With a stand displaying its growing range of HD video security technology, it will demonstrate how leading ISVs are taking advantage of its HD innovation.

Two HD models and four SD models in Sony's PTZ line-up are already supported by several of the leading video management software vendors' products on the market. Those products include ‘Omnicast 4.5 from Genetec', ‘GeViScope/re_porter / MultiScope III from GEUTEBRÜCK GmbH', ‘e-netcamCLIENT / e-netcamVIEWER / CorporateVIEWER from IProNet Sistemas.', ‘XProtectTM from Milestone Systems', ‘Observer 3 from NETAVIS Software GmbH', ‘NiceVision® from NICE Systems', ‘SeeTec 5 from SeeTec Communications GmbH & Co. KG' and ‘3CTM from Visual Defence'.

"Sony's HD PTZ models were the first on the market and the HD quality of Sony's image sensor is a really valuable innovation for the video surveillance industry. Milestone was one of the first VMS Providers to support HD cameras and it was natural for us to integrate the full line of Sony HD cameras into our XProtect platform, thereby strengthening the HD capabilities for the end user", said Henrik Friborg Jacobsen, Vice President of Milestone Systems.

In addition to offering excellent picture quality, the powerful multi-streaming capabilities of Sony's latest platform bring another benefit to the market.

Sony's full range of encoders meets various requirements when migrating an existing analogue CCTV system to IP

Francis Lachance, Product Manager of Product Management, Genetec said, "The flexibility of Omnicast when managing multiple video streams in combination with Sony's multi-streaming feature will benefit customers who have precise requirements in terms of picture quality, bandwidth and storage utilisation. With this solution customers will have the ability to assign specific roles to each stream such as local viewing, remote viewing and recording."

Genetec, GEUTEBRÜCK GmbH, IProNet Sistemas., Milestone Systems, NETAVIS Software GmbH, Visual Defence, and SeeTec Communications GmbH & Co. KG also support four models of box type encoders and two models of blade type encoders.

"Sony's full range of encoders brings huge benefits to end users and integrators as it meets various requirements when migrating an existing analogue CCTV system to IP. Sony's encoders also provide additional value to end users as they improve the quality of video images from existing analogue cameras with their latest noise reduction technology (XDNR) and Sensitivity control function (Visibility Enhancer). All of Sony's latest encoders support H.264, MPEG-4 and JPEG compression format with 30fps in D1 resolution. I'm sure this flexible choice in streaming will meet the high level of traditional security and surveillance needs when combined with Observer," said Wolfgang Baumgartner, CEO of NETAVIS Software GmbH.

All of these newly introduced network cameras and four full-function encoder models (SNT-EX series) are equipped with new intelligent video analytics features (DEPA advanced, Distributed Enhanced Processing Architecture).

The HD quality of Sony's image sensor is a really valuable innovation for the video surveillance industry

"The demand for intelligent video analytics is increasing significantly in the video surveillance market. As Sony's DEPA technology is now available as DEPA advanced, and the entire process of analytics is handled at the camera side, it's a reasonable solution. End users now have the opportunity to enjoy Sony's unique intelligent video analytics feature with an Omnicast platform," said Francis Lachance, Product Manager of Product Management, Genetec.

With an extensive number of leading video management software vendors supporting the latest generation line-up of network cameras and encoders, Sony's cutting-edge technologies, including Visibility Enhancer, Dynamic Noise Reduction (XDNR) and DEPA Advanced feature, are widely available in the market and are creating more choice when meeting customer need for effective video surveillance.

"This is a strong initiative between leading video management software vendors and Sony to drive the video surveillance market from analogue to IP and to High Definition", said Yu Kitamura, EMEA Product Manager, Video Security, Sony Professional.
