Adams Rite, part of Security Solutions, a division of ASSA ABLOY has worked with IKON, an aluminium systems company to produce a specialist, double door, suitable for use in high security plant and engine rooms.

Using the innovative Adams Rite Sentinel 6 deadlock that complies with the stringent BS EN 12209, at security grade 6, and the 7201S flushbolt, the IKDS50 louvre doorsets were fully tested to PAS24.

Enhanced security

The rigorous testing process demonstrated the IKDS50 doorset offers ‘Enhanced Security’, required for the protection of expensive electrical equipment in unmanned facilities.

The doorsets successfully resisted all PAS24 attacks having undergone timed manual attack methods, hard and soft body impact tests, and mechanical load testing of 4500N at each locking point without component failure or opening.

Comments

Mike Lock at IKON, said: “We’ve manufactured this doorset as a number of our customers have expressed a need for a heavy duty doorset, suitable for securing plant and engine rooms.”

“If security is breached and machinery is damaged, businesses not only endure the cost of replacing equipment, but also lose income from operations being interrupted due to the time it takes to replace devices. The IKDS50 is proven to provide the high level of security needed to protect expensive pumping and heating equipment.”

Russel Richards, Regional Sales Manager at Security Solutions, said: “Sentinel 6 is a tried and tested solution, so we were confident it would be able to provide the level of security needed for IKON’s doorset to meet PAS24.”

“We have worked with IKON on a number of projects in the past and are thrilled that they came to us to secure such a niche product.”
