The SIA Public Policy Dinner is open to registered attendees of the SIA Government Summit

The Security Industry Association (SIA) will honour Paul Schomburg, senior manager of government and public affairs at Panasonic Corp. of North America, with the SIA Statesman Award during the SIA Public Policy Dinner on June 9, SIA announced recently.

Established in 2006, the Statesman Award is an annual award presented by SIA to an individual (or individuals) who makes an extraordinary contribution of professional time, leadership and resources to position SIA to address the public policy challenges impacting the electronic physical security industry.

Achievements

“Paul Schomburg has worked tirelessly to advocate for the interests of the security industry before legislators and regulators in Washington for many years,” said SIA CEO Don Erickson. “His foresight, leadership and collaborative spirit have made significant contributions to SIA’s efforts on Capitol Hill. SIA has no greater friend and ally than Paul, who has been the very best representative on behalf of Panasonic.”

“I am honoured to be recognised for this award by SIA, but it also reflects the superb work of SIA’s government affairs staff and the coordination of the many company representatives who work together to address public policy issues that affect the entire security industry,” said Mr. Schomburg. “Panasonic is proud to be an SIA member and we greatly appreciate SIA’s efforts to ensure that the industry’s voice is heard by policy makers.”

SIA will recognise Mr. Schomburg at the SIA Public Policy Dinner, which immediately follows the first full day of the SIA Government Summit at The Hamilton on June 9 in Washington, D.C. The SIA Public Policy Dinner is open to registered attendees of the SIA Government Summit.
