GSI 2010 is based on the respected and highly acclaimed international Global Security Asia Series in Singapore, and will focus exclusively on the national security and terrorist threats that the Indian Sub Continent currently faces. The exhibition will showcase the latest systems and equipment currently available to counter these threats.
Following the Mumbai tragedy, with the ongoing terrorist activities in Jammu, Kashmir and the North Eastern States, plus the Naxal (Maoist) insurgency, Homeland Security is a top priority for the Indian Government. To underscore this statement, the Indian Homeland Security budget has been increased for fiscal year 2009/10 by a further $10B USD and will continue to increase at the rate of 25% per annum for the foreseeable future thus making India not only the fastest-growing but certainly one of the largest single markets in the world for Homeland Security products and services. From a marketing standpoint this is an opportunity that should be addressed by all International/National Homeland Security companies.
