UK Watch Ltd, Dudley, recommended Dedicated Micros popular digital product to replace the school's video recorder and matrix.
The Solution
A 16-camera Digital Sprite with networking was installed and, by using the existing computer network, images can now be viewed from any networked PC around the school ensuring coverage in all areas. Dave Parker, managing director of UK Watch explains: "The school wanted to update its security to provide all round cover, but it had to be easy to use as security is monitored on site. "The key objective was to record without the hassle of continually changing videotapes. Digital Sprite is an easy to use and install package bringing together digital video multiplexing, digital video recording and network video transmission - it fits the bill perfectly."
On completion of the installation, UK Watch supplied training on-site. Sue Page, headmistress at Smallheath Secondary said: "As a busy school, installation had to be quick and easy causing the minimum disruption - we were impressed by both the installation and training provided and to date the product has been very successful, meeting all our security needs."
"Budgets, of course, are always a key consideration in the education sector, which meant that a significant capital investment in overhauling our security system simply was not possible. Digital Sprite, however, provides an easy to use, reliable digital system without requiring major funding."
With built in telemetry protocols, Digital Sprite is the first digital recording system to combine instant access hard disk storage, integrated telemetry control of JVC, Ultrak, Ademco, Kalatel/Aritech, Panasonic and Sensormatic domes and multiple user network viewing in one easy-to-use and install package.
The Digital Sprite delivers all the benefits of digital recording, allowing instant access to long term recording and provides installers and customers alike with a ?hands-free' automated recording system, which removes tape management issues and significantly narrows the opportunity for human error.
Pauline Norstrom, Marketing Communications Manager at Dedicated Micros, commented: "We don't believe that digital CCTV has to be complicated. Digital Sprite is designed with the installer and end user in mind and leads the way forward by offering the latest digital technology in a truly accessible format."
