ADT PulseSM allows customers to arm and disarm their security systems and access real-time video

ADT and Southern California Edison (SCE) are providing SCE customers with energy management and reporting capabilities through ADT PulseSM, an interactive home management platform that allows customers to arm and disarm their security systems, control thermostats, turn on and off small appliances and lights, access real-time video, and lock and unlock doors.

ADT Pulse can connect to SCE customers’ Edison SmartConnect meters to show home energy consumption, historical energy usage information, daily energy bill estimates and energy savings alerts. These features enable customers to easily monitor, understand and adjust their energy consumption and help them save money on their electric bill.

“SCE is always looking for innovative solutions that make it easier for customers to manage their energy,” said Erwin Furukawa, senior vice president of customer service at SCE. “In a more connected world, there is a greater need for collaboration to deliver additional value to customers. Edison SmartConnect meters and ADT Pulse allow people to more easily manage their lives.”

“These features are a powerful extension of the ADT Pulse platform,” said Don Boerema, chief corporate development officer at ADT. “SCE customers now have the ability to manage their energy consumption more wisely, which helps them save money on their energy bill. Adding energy management and reporting capabilities to ADT Pulse means SCE customers can now more fully realise the benefits of ‘smart home’ technology.”

Customers who purchase ADT Pulse may qualify for SCE incentives and rebates to increase their savings opportunities and can learn more by contacting ADT at: http://www.adt.com/sce. For more information about Edison SmartConnect meters, visit www.sce.com/smartconnect.
