QNAP Security, the leading Linux-based NVR solution provider, introduced an improved video experience with NVR firmware upgrade VioStor 3.5.2. It offers enhanced multi-streaming, USB joystick controls and support for the latest network camera models. The upgrade includes greater multi-streaming functionality for high-resolution storage and live viewing at lower resolutions. Users can control PTZ cameras with a USB joystick remotely — not just locally — for powerful monitoring capabilities from anywhere in the world.

“To provide security managers a smooth live view, we boosted our ability to record high-resolution footage in H.264, while creating a second or even third lower-resolution stream for viewing,” said QNAP Product Manager Andrew Yu. The QNAP NVR adds support for more than 60 new network cameras, giving customers greater freedom to design best-of-breed video solutions.”

VioStor stand-alone NVRs offer remote monitoring from multiple servers, supporting up to 128 channels of video. The embedded NVR provides rich network video functionality, such as intelligent video analysis, advanced event management and watermarking. Security managers never miss a thing with detailed e-maps on a monitoring page, along with real-time reports through text messages and emails.

The VioStor NVR combines storage and security monitoring functionality in one comprehensive package.
