Ipsotek, a world leader in video analytics, has appointed Chris Gomersall as Chief Executive Officer.

Chris is accustomed to developing companies in their start-up phase, having helped Sequent Computer Systems grow in eight years from a business employing a handful of staff to one of over 500 with 70% market share for high-end UNIX systems.

Following on from Sequent, Chris held senior management positions in Oracle, Tivoli and Peregrine Systems.

He then set up the EMEA organisation of PolyServe.  Under Chris' leadership this organisation grew rapidly over the following two years until it was acquired by Hewlett Packard in May 2007.  At this time Chris decided to look for an early-stage UK-headquartered opportunity.

With a degree in civil engineering and a 25-year career in the IT sector, Chris is well placed to steer Ipsotek into a dominant position in this rapidly developing market.

Andrew Marchant, COO of Ipsotek, said, "We are confident that Chris' leadership will give us the rapid growth that we are seeking.  Not only will Chris' business experience be invaluable but also his engineering background will play an important role in the evolution of our products, ensuring that we continue to meet the demanding requirements of our customers."
