Hans Joergen Skovgaard newly hired as Head of Product Development at Milestone Systems
Just because Milestone Systems was recently lauded by IMS Research for the fifth year in a row as the global market leader for open platform IP video software does not mean that they will rest on their laurels. According to 44-year-old Hans Joergen Skovgaard, the newly hired Head of Product Development at Milestone, it is important to keep striving for more innovations.

Ambition is not lacking at Milestone Systems: this company wants to deliver the world's best software and maintain its worldwide standing as the number one developer of open platform IP video software. The first step for the new Head of Product Development will be to focus on optimisations in the international company's Research & Development procedures.

"My ambition is that Milestone continues to be the world's best. And that requires our customers to be on our side - which can only happen if we do make the world's best software. We therefore have to constantly develop ourselves as an innovative organisation that continues to fulfill customer needs, and to hold the competition at bay," says Hans Joergen Skovgaard, new Head of Product Development at Milestone Systems headquarters in Denmark.

Before Hans Joergen Skovgaard came to Milestone, he was employed at Microsoft with responsibility for the product development of Dynamics AX Production & Logistics and had a staff of 120 under him. At Milestone he has 50 developers and testers for now. Initially Hans Joergen will scrutinise how the internal development processes can be optimised with a view to the organisation's long-term growth plans.

Milestone wants to maintain its worldwide standing as the number one developer of open platform IP video software

"We have big expectations for Hans Joergen Skovgaard. When you look at his background there's no doubt about his expertise. At Milestone we are very ambitious, especially when it comes to our product development. The market for IP-based video software continues to flourish with new advancements, and this is where he can contribute to ensuring that we stay on the forefront of inventive technology," states Lars Thinggaard, CEO at Milestone Systems.

Hans Joergen says: "It is critical for me to follow the entire process: Are we working effectively enough? Are the products tailored enough to the market and customer needs in future? What can we improve? Can we create even better work methods as the company grows? These are questions I will ask, and find the answers. I said yes to the job at Milestone because here there is a real opportunity to execute the aspirations of management, employees, partners and customers. Milestone has been a leader in the market with its ground-breaking technology and since then has shown how to develop innovative solutions. This is why Milestone has a unique position in the industry. Now we will forge onward by continuing to improve the world's best IP video surveillance software."
