The Avigilon system will watch over the shelter and safeguard all of its visitors and staff

Harbor House has been chosen to be the next recipient of a full Avigilon HD surveillance system. Regarded as one of the best comprehensive domestic violence programs in the State of Florida, the charity provides five main services: emergency shelter, children’s services, community outreach, legal advocacy services and community and professional education. The Avigilon system will watch over the shelter and safeguard all of its visitors and staff.

In 2012, Avigilon committed to assisting deserving charities in need of an HD system that would help safeguard people, property or the environment. The company’s first donation was awarded to the Downtown Eastside Women’s Shelter (Vancouver, BC), which provides emergency shelter for up to 60 women each night.

For this round of donations, we asked our audience to help us decide between five worthy charities spread out all over the globe: Rachel House Children’s Hospice (Scotland), Dorothy House (UK), Harbor House (USA), Won Life (South Africa) and the Grace Mugabe Foundation (Zimbabwe).

After a month-long online voting process, Harbor House received 53 percent of the votes. Avigilon will continue to give away one full surveillance system (workstation, software and 5 HD surveillance cameras) per quarter. All of the runner ups from this round will be considered for the next donation as well.
