Avigilon, a leader in high-definition (HD) and megapixel video surveillance solutions, announced its continuing global expansion into the fast-growing surveillance market of Russia and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) with the appointment of Pavel Zhorin, regional sales director.
According to IMS Research network video surveillance sales in the BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) markets are expected to grow in excess of 30 percent in 2012. Russia and CIS offer a considerable opportunity with government spending increases projected and large infrastructure projects planned like the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games. The city of Vancouver used Avigilon’s high-definition surveillance solutions to maintain public order and spectator safety during the Vancouver 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

An experienced sales professional with IT and software companies, Zhorin will be responsible forcreating new growth opportunities in Russia and CIS. Zhorin joins Avigilon from Mobotix where he served as the business development manager for Russia and CIS. There he tripled the business in a short 18 months.
