Redvision’s RVX-IP30™, the IP version of its successful X-SERIES™ rugged PTZ and dome camera range, is now available in 1080p (Full HD) and 720p (HD) resolution models. Both models have three, simultaneous, real-time video streams. The primary stream is for recording and is either 1080p or 720p, depending on model, with sub-streams of 720p, D1, VGA and QVGA for lower band-width recording, display and transmission. Video compression format options include H.264, MPEG4 or JPEG and both models have a 30x optical and 12x digital zoom.
Delivers Full HD 1920x1080p resolution video
The RVX-IP30-1080 HD model delivers Full HD, 1920x1080p resolution video, with a sensitivity of 0.35Lux in day/night mode reducing to 0.05Lux with IR illumination switched on. The RVX-IP30-720 HD has 1280x720p resolution, but with 0.25Lux is more sensitive in low-light.
“As the number of megapixels in a camera increases, its low light sensitivity decreases,” explained Paul Hucker, MD of Redvision. “Megapixel sensors have dead space between pixels which is not light sensitive. The proportion of dead space increases in higher megapixel models, compromising sensitivity. Our tests found that the 1080p model, with IR and white light illumination switched on, is effective up to 120 and 100 metres respectively, with operators recognising people at up to 40 metres. By comparison, the 720p model is effective up to a staggering 200 metres, with operators identifying people at 70 metres. 1.3MP is also specified in many Local Authority applications, which is our biggest single market.”
“We introduced both models because some applications require low-light performance as a priority, so would use the 720p. Other applications need Full HD video as a priority, so would use the 1080p model.”
