Arecont Vision showcased its expanded line of lower-cost H.264 compact megapixel cameras at IFSEC 2011 |
Arecont Vision, the industry leader in IP-based megapixel camera technology, displayed its expanded line of lower-cost H.264 compact megapixel cameras that are half the size and a third of the weight of previous models at IFSEC 2011.
The new AV3115, AV5115 and AV10015 3, 5 and 10 megapixel cameras are the latest additions joining the Arecont Vision AV1315 (1.3 megapixel) and AV2815 (1080p HD) cameras. All Arecont Vision compact megapixel cameras are easy to install and fit into smaller housings and domes.
The AV3115 provides 2048 x 1536-pixel (3 megapixel) images at 20fps, the AV5115 provides 2,592 x 1,944-pixel (5 megapixel) images at 14 fps and the AV10015 provides 3,648 x 2,752-pixel (10 megapixel) images at 7 fps and 1,920 x 1,080-pixel (1080p) at 30fps. All cameras employ H.264 compression to minimise bandwidth and storage requirements. Each is also available in a Day/Night version (AV3115DN, AV5115DN or AV10015DN).
The binning mode in each of these units provides for increased sensitivity and better low light performance. The units are powered via PoE to eliminate the need for localised power supplies. Existing cameras in the compact line are the AV1315, which provides 1280x1024-pixel (1.3 megapixel) images at 32 fps and the AV2815 which provides 1920x1080-pixel (2.07 megapixel) images at 24fps. These new units also have auxiliary power of 24VAC and 12-48VDC, as well as Auto Iris options.
"Our compact H.264 megapixel cameras set a new benchmark for performance and price and provide yet another compelling reason to deploy megapixel cameras for mainstream applications," said Dr. Michael Kaplinsky, CEO, Arecont Vision. "These new cameras reflect a 20% to 25% price decrease compared to previous models, making them even more cost competitive against standard definition IP and analog cameras in an even more compact configuration."
The new Arecont Vision compact camera models also provide added functionality. A privacy mask feature enables video to be blocked in multiple regions in any arbitrary shape. Extended motion detection provides a higher-granularity grid of 1,024 distinct motion detection zones. Flexible cropping provides even more adjustability in image sizes. The cameras are also fully compatible with the PSIA (Physical Security Interoperability Alliance) industry standard and have passed PSIA conformance tests.
