Leading security and access control company Abloy UK will be showing a host of new products at IFSEC 2008 - including an access control product specifically aimed at SMEs.

Ideally suited to smaller sites, Smartair is an off-line access control system.  Offering the protection of a technologically sophisticated and accurate access control system for a fraction of the price, and without the need for a more complex on-line system - which can be expensive and time-consuming to maintain - it is perfect for any installers who are not specifically access control specialists.  Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) contactless chip technology in the reader and card means this system is extremely durable and requires minimal maintenance.

Smartair has good vandal-resistant properties because all the control elements, except for the reader, are located on the inner side of the door.  The system also utilises the popular Mifare card technology.

It is an extremely versatile, off-line access control option.  Constructed from stainless steel, it can be fitted to internal or external doors of contemporary design and is compatible with a wide variety of handles and mortice locks.  Supplied in a range of finishes, Smartair is also available with an electronic privacy function - which can be activated from the inside and will only allow access by specifically authorised cards.

The Abloy UK IFSEC stand (hall 18, stand 16213) will also host a diverse range of its other new and innovative products including:

  • VEGA cabinet locks - a new range of locks for glass and wooden cabinets
  • EL490 / EL590 - new electric motor locks
  • DA460 door operator - a power open and power close door operator
  • EL520 Exit Kit - an EN1125-compliant mortice lock and panic bar combination
  • PROTEC Cliq - a mechanical cylinder lock offering physical security with the added bonus of electronic encryption and audit trail.
