Vari-focal lenses from SENKOADL are being used by one of Europe's largest automotive component manufacturers in south-western Germany on a machine vision application.

The lenses, which have a focal length of 7.5~50mm, are from SENKOADL's "pro" series.  They are being used here with 1/3" double progressive scan cameras from videotronic infosystems.

The client, who employs 2,000 staff and supplies parts for the world's best-know car brands, is recording images from the lenses to 16-way NEXVS digital video recorders which have also been supplied by videotronic infosystems, a Vicon company based in Neumuenster, Germany.

Of course such functionality is not relevant to the machine vision application described here, but installers working on other projects dealing with both white and infrared light will appreciate that these are day-night lenses, which accommodate the IR focus shift.

Across widely differing conditions, the units deliver outstanding image quality using SENKOADL's high-resolution Japanese lens technology and extraordinary low dispersion (ED) glass.  Tolerance on the precision equipment manufactured by this client is such that the slightest abnormality in a component must be addressed on the assembly line.
