Sophisticated digital Public Address and Voice Alarm (PAVA) technology from Bosch Security Systems has been selected by Advance Integrated Systems (AIS) for the new Drake Circus Shopping Centre in Plymouth scheduled to open in Autumn 2006.

Central to the installation is the proven Praesideo technology - the world's first fully digital public address and emergency sound system characterised by the flexibility in the system configuration, simplicity of installation and high-quality audio reproduction.  Its high output power and ability to be configured for many different zones makes it ideal for a shopping centre environment.

As well as the PAVA system, AIS has also chosen technology from Bosch Security Systems CCTV range, including EnviroDome (for outdoor surveillance) and FlexiDome XT (impact resistant) dome cameras, both with innovative motion tracking capability AutoTrack, and VIP-X encoders to enable images to be transmitted over IP.

At the front end is Bosch Security Systems' VIDOS Video management System, specifically designed for IP-based CCTV surveillance installations, and next-generation Network Video Recorders.

"We chose Bosch Security Systems because of the quality of its product technology, and its reliability," explains Steve McCay, AIS' Sales & Technical Director.  "We were one of the first installers of Praesideo when it originally came to market, and in terms of functionality, it is miles ahead of anything else that is available."

Drake Circus is a fully covered shopping centre that will feature eight major stores, including Marks and Spencer, and over 48 shops, cafés and restaurants.  It comprises 560,000sq ft of retail floor space, principally on two levels, and parking for 1,270 cars.
