During the day, intruders are detected by sensors that trigger a loudspeaker to issue a stern warning

Following a spate of vandalism and incidents of cable theft within various parts of Network Rail’s infrastructure, TEW Plus Ltd instigated a successful eight week trial of an intruder deterrent system using AEGIS White Light LED Illuminators from Bosch Security Systems, Inc.

Problem: organisation needs a method for deterring thefts day and night

  • Network Rail required a solution to deter vandalism and theft
  • System must be effective day and night
  • Solution requires reliable performance over time

Solution: AEGIS UFLED White Light Illuminators

  • Visible light with 3D Diffuser Technology provides even illumination across the entire scene to enable optimum nighttime color performance of cameras and to enhance the safety of the area
  • Constant Light microprocessor ensures a consistent level of illumination throughout the product’s lifetime
  • Low power consumption reduces running costs, a critical factor when multiple illuminators are required
  • Compact size enables flexible mounting options

Results: diminished incidents of vandalism and theft for Network Rail

  • During the day, intruders are detected by sensors that trigger a loudspeaker to issue a stern warning to trespassers to leave the site
  • At night, sensors trigger the powerful AEGIS UFLED White Light Illuminators to flood the scene with visible light
  • Day/night camera captures color images of the action and sends a text alert and emails images over the mobile phone network to alert that there is an intruder
