FLIR Systems is proud to announce the introduction of the revolutionary MPX DVR and camera line-up, offering megapixel resolution over standard coaxial / UTP cable at price levels well below IP. The new M3400 Series MPX DVR and compatible MPX Cameras provide an affordable and simple-to-use HD system with advanced features, without any networking complexities. MPX offers an ideal retrofit solution for end-users employing D1 / 960H analog systems who wish to upgrade to High Definition picture quality without running new cabling.

The new MPX technology overcomes the shortcomings of previous analogue HD CCTV systems introduced in the market and goes well beyond the key benefit of megapixel resolution to offer exceptional features previously unavailable. MPX utilises bidirectional communication protocol to facilitate 2 way audio, duplex transmission for camera control (including PTZ, focus, alarm trigger), plus extended cabling distances of up to 400m. With a brilliant HD image and no video or audio latency, the MPX system is a natural migration from 960H analogue DVRs.

Accompanying the MPX DVR is the innovative FLIR Cloud connectivity solution featuring instant remote access via iOS and Android by simply scanning the DVR’s QR code. In addition to the mobile apps, the powerful FLIR Cloud Client 64 channel CMS software for PC/Mac is included with Client/Server support for managing multi-site applications and even combining FLIR NVRs and IP Cameras into the same centralised location. FLIR Cloud will soon become a vehicle for Cloud Services which will present excellent RMR opportunities for dealers.

The initial MPX offering arriving in July 2014 will consist of a 720p DVR bundle with Outdoor IR Mini Bullet Cameras. Shortly thereafter the line will be expanded to include a wide variety of MPX camera configurations including Vandal Dome, Motorised Lens e-zoom cameras, and PTZ Domes. While first generation MPX systems will feature 720p resolution (double the resolution of 960H), second generation MPX recorders will include megapixel resolution plus compatibility to connect non-MPX D1 / 960H analogue cameras. MPX DVRs will be offered in 4/8/16 channel configurations.
