Navtech’s AGS1600 radar unit is capable of detecting vehicles, humans and animals up to 1000 metres

Navtech Radar has installed four AdvanceGuard AGS1600 radars at Ostrava Airport in the Czech Republic. Ostrava Airport adds to the list of Airports now fully protected by Navtech's advanced radar technology.

Ostrava airport in the Czech Republic has become one of the latest European airports to conform to the new EU regulations. Working with a number of technology partners, the airport has implemented an AdvanceGuard wide area surveillance solution from Navtech Radar.

To provide the optimal coverage, the solution involved installing four AdvanceGuard AGS1600 radars. Each AGS unit provides a compact, high-performance, scanning radar sensor. Each unit will scan a full 360 degrees every 1.5 seconds and is capable of detecting vehicles, humans and animals in most weather conditions up to 1000 metres.

The AGS1600 is housed in a lightweight, IP67-compliant enclosure and features an industry-standard IP interface for easy setup and use as part of a multi-radar solution. The radar units’ wide-area surveillance capabilities are then tied in to Navtech Radar’s sophisticated physical security information management (PSIM) system - Witness.
