The employers entering this competition are evaluated by the editors of Canada's Top 100 Employers ranking, using the same criteria as for the national competition: physical workplace, atmosphere, health and family benefits, vacation, internal communication, performance management, professional development, and community involvement. The employers are then compared to other companies in similar industries to determine which offer the most forward-thinking and stimulating working environments.
"Showing appreciation to our employees is one of our core values," mentions Joëlle Couture, HR Manager. Some of the many advantages Genetec's employees benefit from include an onsite gym, a pool table, a video game system, and a babyfoot table. In addition to these recreational advantages, Genetec offers flexible hours as well as frequent social and teambuilding activities. ‘'Other ways to show our appreciation include attractive retirement and profit sharing plans, and most importantly, providing an environment where our employees are empowered and take an active part in the company's decision process," adds Ms Couture.
