Anti-terrorism product, PAXCON® has become the first spray-on blast mitigation coating to achieve a coveted Secured by Design licence.

PAXCON® is a non-intrusive coating that's painted onto building walls to contain fragmentation caused by an explosion or bomb blast.  Fragmentation is responsible for over 80% of bomb blast casualties, making PAXCON® a cost-effective solution with the potential to save multiple lives.

The Secured by Design (SBD) scheme has previously focused on providing the only source of official, national police approval for domestic and commercial security products, however it has recently expanded its scope to encompass anti-terrorism prevention.

Sole UK applicators of PAXCON®, Paxcon UK Ltd Managing Director, Lee Smith said, "We are extremely proud to be one of the first to achieve SBD accreditation for an anti-terrorism product."

"Securing Secured by Design certification for PAXCON® demonstrates our commitment to providing a highly effective product that can be purchased, specified and applied with peace of mind."

Prior to receiving SBD approval, PAXCON® was subjected to rigorous assessment by several Government departments to ensure complied with performance claims.  When the US Air force put 27 spray-on Blast Mitigation Coatings though their paces, PAXCON® was the only product to pass every test.

The PAXCON® coating can be applied to new builds as well as being retrofitted to existing building that are being upgraded to a more secured status.
