At IFSEC 2008, Remote Video Response (RVR) - the Gloucester-based CCTV monitoring centre - will launch Chameleon, a new control system that will enable RVR to monitor, manage and respond to images transmitted via ANY CCTV technology regardless of make or manufacturer, predominantly over IP, and without sending the images to multiple people within the Remote Video Response Centre (RVRC).

The result is that installers and end users will be able to utilise any preferred CCTV technology they choose (or that may be already installed), confident that images and audio can be received, reviewed and recorded by using RVR as their monitoring partner.  For end-users, this means that both legacy systems and future installations will be supported.  For installers, it means greater flexibility and choice, and not being restricted to working with only those products that their response centre can recognise.

More than just delivering greater convenience however, the new technology will also bring enhanced operational efficiencies.  Such is the intelligence of the new technology that each transmission received is recognised as belonging to a specific installation, and automatically accorded the appropriate response relevant to that installation without any intervention required by the operator.

Chameleon has been developed in partnership with ESSA, with whom RVR has been working for many years in delivering state-of-the-art monitoring solutions.  The list of products supported by RVR include all of the major manufacturers as well as the "niche" technology providers: Dedicated Micros (NDS2, SD, DVIP); full integration of Xtralis' ADPRO range through a smart VCG integration; Hi-tel; Smart-tel; Cam-tel; and Video Domain.  It is also able to provide full integration of over 100 dedicated IP technologies.
