With over 20 years’ experience designing leading edge network access control solutions, Grosvenor Technology has launched SATEON, a technology step change in access control. SATEON is 100% browser-based and powered by the latest web streaming technology to deliver a slick and graphically rich user interface. Compared with traditional systems and other browser based solutions that can be unfriendly and prescriptive, SATEON’s user experience is without compromise and delivers a lightning fast and feature-rich access control system through a standard browser.
SATEON is 100% browser-based and therefore there is no need to install client software onto any PC. This is good news for IT departments as it allows the access control software to be rapidly deployed. Any upgrades need only be applied once to the central server and every user will then automatically benefit from the very latest software features. Using any PC with a browser, users can access the system from anywhere on the building’s network or via a secure remote connection (e.g. VPN) across the internet.
For both installers and end users, all administration, system configuration and diagnostic tasks can be achieved from the convenience of a preferred web browser. SATEON is a feature rich system and encompasses advanced access levels, card ID printing, alarm management, navigable graphic maps, landlord / tenant partitioning, people in area monitoring and comprehensive reporting tools.
SATEON has Enterprise class support tools to enable integration with third party data sources and security systems. These tools allow data and events to be transmitted automatically in and out of SATEON, for example to a student enrolment system, HR database, Active Directory, Time & Attendance, SMS, PSIM, Meeting Room booking system, Advanced Visitor Management etc.. SATEON also has a growing list of integration modules for CCTV, intruder, elevator and fire systems that can help unify disparate technology.
SATEON is suitable for organisations of any size, from one site to multiple sites across wide area networks. Its architecture is IP-network based, including support for Power over Ethernet (PoE), which allows true scalability and can significantly reduce installation costs. With a Microsoft SQL database at the back end it will meet all the security and resilience requirements of a modern corporate IT infrastructure.
Sales and Marketing Director at Grosvenor Technology, Lee Abraham says “SATEON has been very well received by installers, end users and consultants. When we show it to people we have to constantly remind them that we are working in a browser because it looks and feels just as responsive as if the software was installed on to the PC.”
“The great news for hundreds of existing JANUS and Siteguard end users is that SATEON is fully backwards compatible with their existing door controller and reader hardware. This provides a very attractive upgrade path to our latest browser based access control software with minimal disruption to their existing infrastructure and without the need for any expensive hardware swap outs.”
