Honeywell recently announced the Fusion III Digital Video Recorder (DVR) v3.6, the latest version of its highly regarded Fusion III security DVR series. The solution incorporates new features and is one of the first DVRs to be certified by the French standards authority CNPP that meets the criteria required by new French laws on CCTV standards.
The legislation, entitled "The Ministerial Decree of 03/08/2007 containing the definition of technical requirements for CCTV systems", aims to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of all video surveillance systems sold in France by September 2009. As part of this legislation, all CCTV products sold must meet three key mandates before this deadline:
1) Cameras must be connected to a viewing system and a storage system;
2) Video streams must be stored in a digital format (if the system has eight or more cameras);
3) Video must be of a guaranteed quality if it is due to be exported.

The Fusion III v3.6 uses the latest IP technology to bridge the gap between analogue and digital systems, offering complete integration between the two. Upgraded features include advanced Honeywell EQUIP™ IP camera integration and improved logging functionality for comprehensive coverage even when multiple user logging levels are required. Further features include the integration of Microsoft Active Directory and a dynamic ‘smart motion' search function, while an integrated camera-based motion detector for Honeywell's new HCX Megapixel applications and dynamic new support for EQUIP™ sensor and audio input management further enhance the Fusion III v3.6's functionality and effectiveness.
