ONVIF was launched with the purpose of creating an open platform for the IP surveillance industry |
ONVIF is an independent, non-profit organisation that was launched at Essen in 2008 with the purpose of creating an open platform for the IP surveillance industry. Standards and goals are discussed and ideas are exchanged in an open forum to help create a common protocol for the exchange of information (such as device discovery, live video, audio, metadata and control information) between network video devices.
PSIA is an independent, not-for-profit organisation that promotes industry adoption of specifications that provide interchangeability and ease of use of physical security products to the benefit of the end user. ACTi is encouraged with the growth of IP video surveillance as a surveillance standard. As the video surveillance world becomes fully immersed in IP video, it is extremely important for the industry to set standards. As a market leader in IP video compression technologies, we are excited to see an open forum where industry leaders can come together to collaborate and set those standards.
