ACTi SED-2140T video servers provide very good image, especially in low lighting conditions

City of Roman is one of the most historic cities in Romania that can date its history back to the 13th Century. Starting from 2009, this enchanting city is well secured by ACTi IP surveillance system. The city-wide monitoring system in Roman City is implemented by SC Electro Universe SCM and is beneficiary to the City Hall and the local police force. It consists of 20 analogue speed domes connected by 20 units of ACTi SED-2140T video servers (1 channel video server with extended temperature).

All the cameras are connected to SED-2140T and transformed to digital stream. The stream are further transmitted through a fibre optic network (GPON technology) belonging to a data carrier (RDS&RCS) that provides Internet, television and 3G communication, city and nation-wide. Due to the fact that it is a vast network, a VPN (Virtual Private Network) was implemented to ensure the security of the information.

The system is monitored by the local police force at a dispatch centre with ACTi NVR. Now, the main roads that allow access in and out of the city, main intersections, and school premises are under scrutiny to keep the beauty of Roman City intact.

Manager from SC Electro Universe SCM comments: "We chose ACTi SED-2140T video servers because of the very good image they provide, especially in low lighting conditions, where there is poor public lighting."
