Martin Hall, Scyron's new finance director 
Scyron, the security and surveillance services company today announced the appointment of Martin Hall as finance director.  The newly- created position replaces the previous role of finance manager. With over 30 years experience in finance and IT, Hall will seek strategic investment to fulfil Scyron's aim of increasing its global market share as the world leader in intelligent, video surveillance systems. Effective immediately, Hall takes up the role reporting to Mike Wilks, Scyron's CEO.

At Scyron, Hall will be responsible for managing long-term investment from private partners and venture capitalists to support the company's expansion plans that include a tenfold increase in revenues by 2011in the growing market for intelligent, networked video surveillance, estimated to be worth $1.7 billion worldwide by 2012, according to IMS Research. Also, he will be responsible for new accounting systems and establishing a robust administrative framework, as well as financial policies for Sales, and Research and Development as the company evolves.

Prior to Scyron, Hall spent fourteen years as head of finance and administration at Sophos, a world leader in IT security and control systems for business, education and government organisations. Working with the founders and the Board, he led and developed a team of 60 to implement and manage the financial systems that supported rapid growth.

Before Sophos, Hall was financial controller for the European operation of Xylogics Inc., a US computer networking and peripherals company. At Xylogics, he developed financial procedures and controls and also, implemented an ISO9001quality system to support rapid growth of the company that was later acquired by Nortel.

Hall began his career as an auditor at Price Waterhouse (now Price Waterhouse Coopers) managing a portfolio of clients spanning from utilities to financial services. He is a chartered accountant and holds a Master of Arts (MA) degree in economics from Cambridge University.
