Market adoption of the term ‘AoIP’ for alarms-over-IP signaling is now well established, says Chiron Security Communications -  reflecting this, the company is to rebrand its market leading IRIS Touch range of products, beginning this month with the Power Pack.

“To keep up with market trends in the alarms sector we are now clearly labeling our devices with AoIP instead of the earlier term ‘IP alarms’,” confirms Chiron’s CEO Wim Harthoorn.

“With AoIP, our installers and other customers who want the latest in direct-polled signaling technology know what to look for."

He added that customers would also find essential information about the IRIS range products’ features and capabilities on the new style packaging.

Last month Chiron launched the IRIS Touch Home alarm signaling unit (pictured) as the first device of its kind with compact in-built power back-up and a small footprint specifically designed for residential and SME use.

Independently certified to EN50131/6, the IRIS Touch Home 40 provides network resilience through dual back up communicating via GPRS and IP.

The new IRIS Touch Home units deliver the standard of security normally only found in Grade 4 systems.
