User-friendly integrated systems boost remote surveillance usage

Easier operation and reduced price levels are some of the reasons why video surveillance systems are increasingly being installed in small shops, petrol station stores and private houses. After all, video surveillance makes a real contribution to crime prevention and court prosecutions. New Plug and Play systems are ideal for entry-level networked video surveillance, are flexible and offer user-friendly operation.

With its 30 years of experience, Videor is one of the leading suppliers in Europe.  And now, just before IFSEC, the distributor is presenting an interesting alternative to the currently available Plug and Play packages from its base in Berkhamsted.  The eneo EMD-15C1/Quad integrated solution contains all the components needed to control an extensive surveillance range.  The package contains everything required for Plug and Play installation of a video surveillance system at excellent value for money.  It consists of a monitor with integral 4-channel multiplexer and digital video recorder, four colour cameras – two standard and two domes – as well as wall brackets and system cables.

The flat screen monitor with a 15” screen diameter has a front keypad for operating the integral digital recorder.  Connection ports for up to four cameras (RJ-11 for the supplied system cable and BNC for hook-up of existing camera signals) are located on the rear of the sturdy steel housing. The recorder’s storage capacity is over 80 GB (upgradeable to 250 GB) and it operates in duplex mode.  Duplex allows recording and playback at the same time and simultaneous display of recorded images and live pictures in a 3 x 3 split on the screen.  A maximum recording speed of 50 fps (PAL) delivers flowing video recordings, recorded images are played back in real time.

The integral motion detector is programmable for day or night applications by adjustment of motion detection sensitivity and configuration of plans for day and night motion detection.

RCC Remote Software for remote surveillance

The integral solution can be connected to any network via the Ethernet port, and the available network functions (live, playback, search function) can be accessed with the bundled RCC Remote Software. The software controls video surveillance, playback of recorded video sequences and system management from any location. For instance, several devices can be selected and managed and the recorded images can be exported. Plus, search functions, such as “Calendar Search”, can quickly find camera images, and they can then be saved with the Snapshot function in JPEG format or printed out.

Cameras with high light-sensitivity and integral microphone

The cameras are two eneo VKCD-148SC colour domes each with a 3.6mm lens as well as two eneo VKC-1418SC colour system cameras each with a lens (F2.0/4mm) and integral microphone. They offer a horizontal resolution of 330 TV lines, 1.0 Lux/F1.2 light sensitivity and features such as automatic gain control (AGC), backlight compensation (BLC), automatic electronic shutter (AES) and automatic white balance (AWB).

The system is also available in two slimmed-down versions each with only one standard or dome camera, or a different camera can be supplied. The available accessories include additional lenses, hard disk upgrades (160GB, 250GB) and an alarm/intercom box.
