Two TeleEye staff members and two volunteers formed the TeleEye team. They started training with day and night trail routes a few months before the event in order to have better results. Their effort was recognized with the successful completion of the 100km MacLehose Trail which runs through eight country parks and 20 hills in the New Territories of Hong Kong. They started at 2pm on November 9 and finished the trek at 4:28pm the next day.
Besides sponsoring the team's entry fund and gears, TeleEye also raised fund within the company. All the support of TeleEye colleagues was transformed into the team's the main driving force to finish the 100km MacLehose Trail.
Dr. Cliff Chan, CEO of TeleEye Group, said, "Oxfam Trailwalker represents the team spirit and ability to overcome tough challenges. We are proud that the TeleEye team pulled together and completed the long trek overnight. More important, we are pleased to be a part of this meaningful Oxfam fundraising event. "
Oxfam Trailwalker was an endurance training exercise for soldiers and became a public fundraising event. Since 1986, more than 54,000 walkers have raised more than HK$240 million to support Oxfam Hong Kong's poverty projects across Asia and Africa. The walkers have to complete the 100km MacLehose Trail within a 48-hour time limit. Over 4,000 people took the 100 km challenge of Oxfam Trailwalker during 9 - 11 November 2007.
