SSAIB is the only certification body to have gained UKAS approval for its Telecare ServicesScheme

SSAIB, the UK’s leading certification body for organisations providing a variety of electronic security, manned guarding services, fire protection, intruder and other alarm systems, has unveiled an exciting audit scheme for the increasingly important social alarms sector.

SSAIB is the only certification body to have gained UKAS approval for its Telecare ServicesScheme, offering telecare system suppliers, installation and maintenance companies, monitoring centres, response providers and others a significant advantage in this expanding market.

Faced with an ageing population, Government strategy is focused on helping the elderly and disabled to remain in their own homes. Telecare is becoming an increasingly important element in social and healthcare services, offering significant diversification opportunities for SSAIB registered firms.

Open to all telecare service providers, SSAIB’s prestigious new independent certification scheme allows them to demonstrate third party compliance with a range of British and European standards, codes and practice, and best practice in terms of professionalism, competence and service quality. The scheme is also modular and flexible, enabling service providers to obtain certification for the specific areas of activity they undertake.

“SSAIB’s new Telecare Services Scheme is run independently of any trade association, manufacturer or supplier interest, and as a UKAS-accredited scheme it provides customers with greater confidence,” comments Chief Executive Geoff Tate. “Rising growth in the demand for telecare services has led to a corresponding increase in interest in the quality of telecare services.

“So whether you commission telecare services for others or are a beneficiary of these services, you’ll want to know that the products and services you buy, and the support that goes with them, will be provided by professional and competent suppliers on whom you can rely.”
