The Samsung SCV-2010F compact flat vandal resistant dome camera has been approved for use by the European railway industry.
Testing house SGS Korea Co Ltd, has issued a certificate which confirms that the SCV-2010F complies with the EN-50155 standard and as such is able to operate reliably when subject to the rigorous conditions which can occur on board trains. A key element of the testing was to ensure that the SCV-2010F could withstand extreme vibrations.
"This certification, together with the fact that the SNV-5010 network vandal resistant dome camera was certified in 2011 to the same EN-50155 standard, means that we can now offer customers the flexibility to choose between analogue or network based solutions," said Peter Ainsworth, Senior Product Manager for Samsung Techwin Europe Ltd. "The efforts we have made to ensure that the SCV-2010F and SNV-5010 comply with the EN-50155 standard, underscores our commitment to develop keenly priced products which incorporate the very latest advances in technology, whilst matching the demanding requirements of the railway industry."
The SCV-2010F is vandal resistant and fully weatherproofed to IP66. Measuring just 100 x 115 x 42mm, it incorporates Samsung's highly successful W-5 DSP chipset to deliver 600TV lines of resolution when lighting levels are as low as 0.04Lux. Supplied with a 3.0mm lens to capture just under a 90° angle of view, the SCV-2010F combines Samsung's Super Noise Reduction (SSNRIII) and Sens-up technologies to enhance low light performance of the camera in colour.
Despite its small size, the SCV-2010F is packed full of user and installer friendly features including Coaxial Control, Highlight Compensation, Motion Detection, Samsung Super Dynamic Range (SSDR) and a multi-language on-screen display for easy set-up. A Privacy feature allows for 12 privacy zones to be outlined in different colours and brightness settings so that they can be clearly seen against varying background scenes.
